This is our Beginner's  Game Jam #3 submission. I'll be posting what we've have accomplished at the end of every day. I'll probably write some dev logs too.

Credits: Everything was created by Goatmeal123. F. silver created the music, but there wasn't time to add it. The bear design was heavily inspired by StormtrooperJon and his game Pixel Bear Adventure.

How to play: WASD for the player on the left. Arrows for the player on the right. One of the bears has the ability to double jump and the other has super speed.

Note for the people I send this to: This was a game jam (game making competition) game. It was made in 2 weeks. I made the menu minutes before it was due, so there are errors. I was rushing with sound so the running "pattering" sound isn't playing correctly. Also, there is a sound for when the bear finishes the level, but it's called at the same time as the "switching scenes" function. This means it will probably get cut off.  I had a teammate who made music, but I ran out of time before I could implement it. I probably should've made it clear that the bear on the left can double jump and the bear on the right has super speed. Also, the game needs to be played in a modern browser. I'm considering polishing it up and making it a complete game. I was originally planning to have levels where there were traps and a rising flood/lava, but I ran out of time. I feel like this game jam I picked something simple to implement code/gameplay-wise so that I could try my hand at making attractive art. I normally dislike art and have always either used public assets or had teammates do it for me. I think this turned out okay, considering I made all the art assets myself.

Well I mean yeah the game was made by Goatmeal123 but that bear is mine :)
I made this game:

You are correct.

For my first ever jam, I had the idea for a pixel art bear chasing after honey. After failing in my drawings I turned to inspiration from the internet. I ran into your game and started by copying your bear design almost exactly and then spent a couple of hours making edits. For this jam, I used the asset I made, modified the animations a bit, and changed the color schemes. At the time, I thought I had made significant enough changes for it not to be a copy but looking back I can definitely see how that isn't entirely the case. I'm sorry for not asking/crediting and am willing to take down the games.

No! Don't take it down, I'm happy people like my bear design lol

Thanks! I'll add a credit to both games and will be sure to ask you before using it again.

Pretty fun platformer with a nice design and art style. Having something for the the bears to do something in their world that could influence the other could be a cool idea for future updates. It was also pretty intuitive to figure out each bear's platforming style.

Oh i like this (graphics, gameplay)! Played it with my girlfriend. We managed to reunite the cute bears <3

That was cute and it's a nice idea :)

game was fun and the art was super cute! also gave me nostalgia of the good ol days when i would play fireboy and watergirl with all my friends haha nice job, hope that one day it will get more levels or such!

Pretty cool idea, some more levels with some new concepts would be nice

This is a really neat idea. I wish there were more levels.
I think it would have been cool if the bears could interact with each other in some way.

Very pleasant game!

This was cute! Though the last level in particular felt a bit harsh on the eyes. The game has a nice cute concept! Would have been really nice to see the levels designed more towards the individual strengths of the two bears, and maybe a way for the two to interact outside of camera movements.

That was a really fun game. I like the premise a lot. It is creative and cute.
